From "Pretty Woman" to "The Pink Panther", Limos have been showing up in pop culture for generations. Whether it's a prom scene, wedding scene, even the occasional high speed pursuit scene, it's always a little treat to see snippets of our industry's history displayed on film. Here are our picks for 5 of best limo scenes from our generation.

Dumb and Dumber (1994)

We would be remiss to write a list like this and not include this movie. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels play two men who would have trouble screwing in a light bulb as a team. Throughout the film, they become entangled in all sorts of unlikely scenarios brought on by their ignorance, making for some great slapstick moments that are truly indicative of the era. The opening scene starts out with an older model Stretch Limousine making an abrupt stop before backing up to the curb. The rear window rolls down where we meet our first main character (Jim Carrey) as he tries his best to make his move on a woman awaiting her bus. As she rejects him, the window rolls up and we learn that our main character was, in fact, the limo driver. A funny moment from a very funny man, the perfect way to start off this list!

Home Alone 2 (1992)

This series is essential in the holiday movie rotation for sure. Comedy, goofy chase scenes, sentimental moments, and relatable sibling rivalries, this franchise has something for everyone. That being said, though we may be a bit biased on this one, one of our favorite scenes has to be when young Kevin (played by Macaulay Culkin), has an entire classic limousine to himself. He is greeted with pizza and uses a champagne glass for his soda. This little guy enjoys his ride to the fullest, even using the built-in phone to call the driver and ask him to go to a toy store! Absolute classic moment that really encapsulates the luxury appeal of the limo experience and the era.

21 jump street (2012)

Though the original TV series is definitely a classic in its own right, it's hard to ignore the comedic magic of Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill taking that concept into the 21st century. The laughs keep coming throughout the whole film. Even in serious moments there are elements that make it hard not to laugh. For instance, during our favorite scene of the film, there are 3 limos involved in a high speed chase. Bullets are flying, tires are screeching, chaos is breaking out in all directions. All of a sudden, Channing Tatum's prom date wakes up in the back seat and tries to hang out of the sunroof and kiss him - all while he is in the middle of a gunfight! Epic scene fit for epic cars, with a generous dose of humour.

The Mask (1994)

Another classic Jim Carrey film, The Mask tells the tale of a man who stumbles upon a cursed relic that makes him feel like he can rule the world. That is, until the mask starts ruling him. Even with the supernatural undertones to the plot, at its core this film is a great comedy, even bordering on romantic comedy at times! One of our favorite moments is when the mask wearing protagonist pulls up in an extra long Stretch Limo that takes laughably long to pull into frame. Carrey hops out and approaches the bouncer and when asked if his name is on the list, he produces fistfuls of bills and exclaims "no, but I believe my friends are, perhaps you know them", before flicking the money into the air. Plus, he does it all while rocking a killer suit!

Wanted (2008)

This 2008 action flick starring Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy, and Morgan Freeman has no shortage of excitement that's for sure. Chases, fights, gun fights, its really got all the hallmarks of late 2000's action movie packed with A-listers. That being said, one of the most creative moments in the film involves a bulletproofed Stretch Limo. When attempting to shoot through the limo's rear window, all while driving his own vintage Mustang, McAvoy's character realizes that won't work. At about the same time Angelina Jolie comes roaring up the other side of the stretch in her Corvette. In an entirely unrealistic - but very cool - maneuver, they manage to use one car as a ramp for the other, propelling the mustang into a airborne barrel roll over the limo. Mid-roll, McAvoy is able to shoot through the open sunroof on the limo and hit his target before landing back on his wheels. Super creative, super cool, and very much late 2000's, it definitely deserved a spot on this list.

We could go on and on about how many times our industry shows up in film. The list is nearly endless! These are some of our favorites though, and we'll leave you with them.
